Why Lady Camp?
Seven years ago Laurie and her family suffered the loss of a beloved young man named Brandon. In mourning the tragic end of this young life, she had a vision for a new paradigm for designing one's life. An idea of a place where people lived together in community. A place where we design life to be centered and nourished by the passions of those who live, work, play and visit there. Laurie started sharing her vision. This conversation for living in a community, being creative about resources of all kinds, and centering life around what you love is now seven years in the making and has a physical existence in the world named Wigglebottom Ridge, the 9 acre home of Lady Camp.
A little over a year ago, your hosts of Lady Camp took a leap of faith and purchased the Wigglebottom Ridge property nestled in the woods in a little 4-way stop of a town called Chimacum (a.k.a. The Heart of the Dragon). Husbands, boyfriends, sisters, children, dogs, cats, chickens, selling properties, renting properties, refinancing homes, offers, rejections, negotiations, many moving trucks and ferry rides later we spent our first night and had our first visitors. The conversation has a life of its own now. We are learning to let it flow and follow where it leads. This summer it leads to you and Lady Camp.

Who is Chauncey Bell?
Chauncey Bell is a renowned designer and consultant. We hold him as our treasured wise man. He has spent more than 40 years inventing operating models and reshaping habits of people working in organizations around the world. He is interested in ways of thinking and acting that allow for looking beneath the world’s neatly ordered stories about why and how people do the things they do.
We invited him to Lady Camp to share his current conversation titled The Invisibles. We claim life happens and gets created in conversation. So what is actually happening in conversation? Much is invisible to us. In fact, it is invisible that it is invisible! Together we will explore the invisible elements of important conversations.
